Coldtivate Open-Source Incubator: Meet the Participants

Find out what the six selected companies are up to and what they are most excited about in the incubator journey!

We are thrilled to announce that Your Virtual Cold Chain Assistant’s seven-week-long incubator, designed for tech-driven logistics companies, agri-tech organisations, and software developers eager to explore and adopt the open-source code behind the Coldtivate app, is all set to start on September 24, 2025.

Here is what the six selected companies have to say about what they do and what excites them about the incubator!

Expect a lively interaction full of insights and innovations that will ripple far beyond the app, shaping solutions in many forms across the agri-cooling sector.

1. ClimaVault Africa – Uganda

ClimaVault Africa provides solar-powered, IoT-enabled cooling hubs through a ‘pay-as-you-store’ system, helping smallholder farmers preserve perishable crops and access markets efficiently.

2. ColdBox Store (Manamuz Electric) – Nigeria

ColdBox Store provides solar-powered cold storage and digital supply chain solutions that connect farmers, buyers, and markets into one integrated ecosystem.

3. DGridEnergy, LLC – USA

DGrid is the premier cold chain solutions provider and maker of cold chain products like the Solar Cool Cube™, Solar Milk Chiller™, Solar Post-Harvest Loss Wash Station and Packhouses™ (USDA Approved) Solar Temperature Sensitive Warehouses, Solar Ice Maker™, and Mobility Cold Chain Transportation for movement of products from point A-B.

4. Eweko Aggregate – Nigeria

Eweko integrates farmers, buyers, and relevant fresh produce value chain actors into commercial digital supply chain platform, reducing post-harvest losses and transaction costs by leveraging technology.

5. FARMERCY Technologies Ltd. – Ghana

FARMERCY leverages digital tools to provide cheap, modular, solar-powered cold storage facilities to smallholder farmers.

6. SuGree Prodcts and Niyantras – India

SuGree Products develops sustainable green solutions by harnessing solar power, energy storage, sustainable cooling, smart controls, and collaborative approaches to improve rural livelihoods and protect the environment. Their technical partner in the incubator programme, Niyantras, drives smart, future-ready innovations for both industry and home—seamlessly integrating IoT, cloud, and mobile technologies. Together, they aim to enhance the Coldtivate solution by combining SuGree’s on-ground experience with Niyantras’ software expertise. This collaboration will advance sustainable cold storage systems, reduce post-harvest losses, and strengthen farmers’ resilience, while also enabling Niyantras to connect more closely with farming communities and develop new technologies to support them.

The incubator programme will be run in collaboration with Mosano, the software development company that is behind the Coldtivate app!

Once the incubator programme concludes, participating companies will continue to benefit from four dedicated post-incubator support sessions. These sessions are designed to address questions and challenges encountered by the incubator participants as they test the code and integrate it with their operations.

All training materials from the programme will be made publicly available in December 2025, along with FAQs generated during the sessions. This resource is designed to empower the wider software and agri-tech community, providing the support needed to build upon Coldtivate in creative and impactful ways, enhancing solutions better serve farmers’s needs and strengthen food security.

In the meantime, we invite you to already explore Coldtivate through our Onboarding Kit, which offers step-by-step setup guidance, interactive progress tracking, and assessments. The kit is designed to support three distinct user group (registered employees, cold room operators, and cooling users) and is accessible at kit.yourvcca.org.
