These Terms of Use apply to the website yourvcca.org and the Your VCCA Onboarding Kit at kit.yourvcca.org (together, the “Website”). The Website is operated by BASE Foundation (Stiftung BASE), Elisabethenstrasse 22, 4051 Basel, Switzerland, on behalf of Your VCCA, an initiative of BASE Foundation and Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology).
By using the Website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
The Coldtivate mobile app and individual programmes, such as the Your VCCA Catalyst Programme, may be subject to separate terms. Where they are, those terms take precedence for that offer.
You may use the Website for lawful purposes only. In particular, you may not:
- interfere with or disrupt the Website, its servers or its security;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Website or to other users’ accounts;
- use automated means to extract content from the Website in a way that places an unreasonable load on it.
To access the Onboarding Kit, you need to register an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login details confidential. We may suspend or delete accounts that are used in breach of these Terms of Use. You may delete your account at any time by contacting info@yourvcca.org.
The content of the Website, including texts, manuals, comic strips, videos, maps and graphics, is owned by BASE Foundation, Empa or their licensors.
Unless stated otherwise, the materials on the Website are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0). You may share and adapt them, provided you credit “Your VCCA (BASE Foundation and Empa)” and indicate any changes.
The names and logos of Your VCCA, Coldtivate, BASE Foundation and Empa may not be used without prior written permission.
The Coldtivate source code is open source and licensed under the MIT Licence, available on GitLab. Use of the Coldtivate app is governed by its End User Licence Agreement, available in the app.
The content of the Website is provided for general information purposes only and does not constitute technical, financial or legal advice. Tools and figures on the Website, such as business model calculations, shelf-life information and maps, are estimates. Decisions you base on them are your own responsibility.
We take care to keep the content accurate and up to date, but we make no warranties as to its accuracy, completeness or availability. We may change or remove content at any time without notice.
To the extent permitted by law, BASE Foundation excludes liability for any damage arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Website or its content. This does not apply to liability for intent or gross negligence.
The Website contains links to third-party websites. We have no control over their content and accept no responsibility for it. A link does not imply our endorsement of the linked website.
We may amend these Terms of Use at any time. The version published on the Website at the time of your use applies.

These Terms of Use are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The place of jurisdiction is Basel, Switzerland, subject to mandatory provisions of law.
