The Your Virtual Cold Chain Assistant Incubator programme is here – get on board!
Five cooling companies operating in low and middle-income countries, which offer clean technologies to help smallholder farmers mitigate postharvest losses, will receive free technical assistance from the Basel Agency of Sustainable Energy and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa). This support will focus on integrating the servitisation business model and a data-science-based mobile application, Coldtivate, into their operations.
We invite you to participate in our webinar on November 3, 2022, where we will provide a comprehensive overview of the curriculum for our incubator programme. During the webinar, we will also explain the application process for interested companies. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to take a virtual tour of Coldtivate, a cutting-edge mobile application designed to enhance cold room management for cooling companies and operators. This demonstration will showcase how Coldtivate displays crucial information such as the remaining storage life of crops, enabling operators to advise farmers on the optimal timing for crate withdrawal. The app also offers a market price prediction feature that empowers farmers to make well-informed decisions regarding when to sell their crops and negotiate the best possible prices.
The incubator sessions will be tailored to meet the unique needs of each participating company. We strongly encourage applications from women-owned or women-led companies. By coming together, we aim to gain a comprehensive understanding of your company’s hurdles and provide context-specific support for your growth. Your perspective and experiences are invaluable, and we welcome your application to join us on this journey. Applications close on November 25 2022.
