In February 2023, Your VCCA began an incubator program supporting cooling companies in implementing Cooling-as-a-Service and adopting the Coldtivate app. This programme led to a community striving to make cooling more accessible and affordable for farmers, raising awareness on the benefits of agricultural cooling, and optimising cold rooms for multi-commodity storage.
Community of Practice
WHAT IS THE
COMMUNITY OF
PRACTICE
HOW IT STARTED
In June 2023, Your VCCA partnered with the SET Alliance to foster the growth of the community. This partnership seeks to expedite the transition to net-zero and enhance climate resilience by engaging stakeholders throughout the cooling landscape in collaborative initiatives.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
The community offers membership for:
- Companies deploying or looking to deploy an as-a-service business model for the provision of agricultural cooling services.
- Cooling technology providers or manufacturers focused on developing solar-powered, hybrid, or thermal storage systems.
- Financiers seeking investment opportunities and connections with cooling companies utilising as-a-service models and digital tools to track their operations and financial performance.
We are actively seeking outreach partners (non-profits, NGOs, research institutes, or associations) to collaborate with us on event creation, dissemination, research, and knowledge development. Additionally, we are currently open to exploring funding opportunities for the Community of Practice.
WHY JOIN THE COMMUNITY?
Access to specialised tools and capacity building material
Members gain exclusive tools for the tailored adoption of Cooling-as-a-Service and digital tools to enhance the efficiency of agricultural cold chains.
Opportunities for
Collaboration
Members can collaborate with peers to share experiences and jointly address challenges in adopting CaaS. Expert guidance and support, including assistance with digital tool integration such as the Coldtivate mobile application, is provided.
Increased Visibility and Networking
Joining the community offers benefits such as increased visibility, access to a diverse network of experts, and participation in matchmaking events connecting commercial investors, energy, and agricultural stakeholders with the shared goal of enabling affordable and wider access to clean cooling.
Informative Materials and Webinars
The community places a strong emphasis on creating informative and educational materials to raise awareness of the benefits of cooling among farming communities and to train operators in managing cold rooms. Additionally, we organise needs-based webinars that offer practical solutions, ensuring members stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in the industry.
